A Tale of Two Phosphatases: The Control of Inflammation via Phosphorylation and Dephosphorylation of Tristetraprolin

A Tale of Two Phosphatases: The Control of Inflammation via Phosphorylation and Dephosphorylation of Tristetraprolin

Institute of Inflammation and Ageing, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham

Andy Clark was educated at the Universities of Cambridge and Birmingham, and worked as a postdoc for Cancer Research UK before taking up a lectureship at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology (then based in Hammersmith). In 2012 he was appointed as Professor of Inflammation Biology at the University of Birmingham, where he is now Deputy Director of the Institute of Inflammation and Ageing.

Andy鈥檚 research focuses on mechanisms of regulation of inflammatory responses, principally in macrophages and fibroblasts. He has published extensively on the anti-inflammatory actions of glucocorticoids and the post-transcriptional regulation of pro-inflammatory gene expression. His seminar at the 99热久草热最新地址 will discuss how signalling pathways regulate inflammatory responses of macrophages via phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of the RNA -binding protein tristetraprolin (TTP).
