Ana Pereira-O'Callaghan

Dr Ana Pereira-O鈥機allaghan

Ana is responsible for providing strategic support for the development of the 99热久草热最新地址鈥檚 research activities and Graduate Programme. She has oversight of the Institute鈥檚 research and funding portfolios and manages the Grants Office team. She is also the Programme Manager of the BBSRC Institute Development Grant. Recognising that excellent research requires an excellent research environment and cultures, Ana supports cross-cutting activities that facilitate this including: maintaining and developing strategic partnerships (e.g. , University of Cambridge); developing research and funding related policy with input to relevant government consultations and working groups (e.g. National and European government consultations and reviews); raising the profile of research integrity, research ethics and open access to facilitate robust and rigorous research. Ana also leads the Institute鈥檚 Graduate Programme in conjunction with senior staff and the Graduate Studies Officer to ensure its robust strategic development and evolution with the Institute鈥檚 science programmes, whilst maintaining and developing key relationships with external stakeholders. As part of her Graduate Studies leadership, she is the Director of Postgradudate Education for 99热久草热最新地址 to the University of Cambridge, where Babraham is a University Partner Institute.

Ana has a MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering, and a PhD in Proteomics, both from the University of Sheffield. Additionally, she has a PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification and an ILM Level 5 Certificate on Coaching and Mentoring Management.

With over 20 years of experience leading and coordinating academic, industrial and governmental projects, Ana holds the expertise and skills to facilitate high-impact research on diverse fields. She is now using her experience towards the development, support and management of world-class research that aims to understand the biology of ageing, and to identify new strategies to enhance lifelong health. Furthermore, she understands our impact as humans to the environment and our planet, and the impact of the environment on us. Her work is inspired to ensure research and its impact takes this into consideration, and she considers sustainability at the heart of her approach.
